According to Foresight News, Ethereum Layer 2 network Taiko and global hackathon organizer DoraHacks are advancing what is described as the largest anonymous community vote in Ethereum's history. This initiative aims to enhance the decentralization of community governance.
The vote is part of the final round of Taiko's Grant Factory hackathon and employs the Minimal Anti-Collusion Infrastructure (MACI) mechanism, proposed by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. This mechanism uses zero-knowledge technology to ensure voting privacy and prevent vote buying and collusion. Under MACI, users submit encrypted votes to a smart contract, with results visible only to the organizers, who will announce the final outcome.
Steve Ngok, a partner at DoraHacks, stated that this collaboration represents the largest whitelist community vote in Ethereum's history. The goal is to advance the development of MACI and explore its potential in community governance.
