Stripe's 2025 Outlook Highlights Stablecoin Growth and AI Commerce Developments

On February 25, Stripe released its annual letter for 2025, highlighting significant developments in the financial technology sector. According to BlockBeats, despite a sharp decline in Bitcoin prices, the volume of stablecoin payments doubled to approximately $400 billion, with 60% attributed to B2B transactions. Stripe's acquisition of the stablecoin platform Bridge resulted in a more than fourfold increase in transaction volume. The company continues to focus on stablecoin adoption through acquisitions and the launch of Tempo, viewing it as a key driver for future currency flow. Additionally, Stripe noted that 2025 marks the beginning of real-world experimentation and development in agentic commerce, or AI-driven commerce. In collaboration with OpenAI, Stripe is developing the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), an open standard aimed at creating a shared technical language between AI platforms and merchants to support programmatic commerce flows and Instant Checkout. The introduction of the Agentic Commerce Suite is seen as foundational infrastructure with generational impact potential, emphasizing the importance of universal interoperability and open design for success.
